Good morning, welcome to the P.E.S.S. Tracker

Welcome to the Physical Education and School Sport (PESS) Tracker. This online tool enables schools to track pupils’ participation in PESS.

Key features of the PESS Tracker:

  • PESSYP survey– all pupil information required for the PESSYP survey will be available through this online tracker
  • PSA target of 2 (+3) hours – schools are able to track pupils’ participation rates in OSHL. This includes participation in community sports clubs
  • PESS – presentation of the information using graphs enables accurate gathering of data and identification of trends in pupils’ participation in PESS throughout the year
  • Transition – pupils’ PESS participation through the Key Stages and their attainment in PE can be tracked
  • KS2 to KS5 - Suitable for pupils from Key Stage 2 onwards
  • Pupil information – the staff accessible pupil homepage allows teachers to identify pupils and use the information for report writing, parents evening and identification of areas where schools could support pupils in PESS participation
  • Target setting – by inputting their levels, pupils can target set using pupil friendly level descriptors (the targets are based on the following key processes: skill, ability to evaluate and improve, creativity and knowledge of health and fitness).
  • Easy set-up - the tracker uses data already held by schools and is easily modified to the needs of the school
  • How does this tracker work? - Pupils complete an online profile of their sporting participation. Staff can easily access this data in a statistical and graphical format.
